Eat Local Week

A series of events July 4-11 to celebrate independent, locally-owned neighborhood businesses we love to eat, drink and shop at as well as our local farmers and food producers who are helping to maintain a vibrant local food system. Folks are invited to bike, walk or take TriMet to eat at their favorite locally-owned neighborhood restaurants, cafes, coffee shops and to buy a portion of their groceries from neighborhood food co-ops, grocery stores and farmers markets.

Eat Local Week is a project of the Sustainable Business Network of Portland, the only alliance of locally owned, independent businesses dedicated to fostering a truly sustainable local economy.

Here's a perfect chance to thank all of you without freaking you out in person. My lady and I were in town from Long Beach, Ca. visiting friends and the second place they shared with us (NewSeasons was first) was the coffeehouse. The coffee and the lemon poppyseed muffins made my tummy smile. The people made my mouth smile. I'm looking forward to visiting again.
